About this tool

This audio generator turns your text into real Morse Code sound. Type a message, press Play, and you hear it exactly as a radio operator would: short beeps for dots, longer beeps for dashes, with the correct gaps between symbols, letters and words. You can also generate a WAV file and download it, which is handy for ringtones, classroom exercises, videos, puzzles and practice tracks you want to keep.

The sound follows the PARIS timing standard, which is the timing every Morse learner should know. One unit is 1200 divided by the speed in words per minute, so at 20 words per minute a dot lasts 60 milliseconds and a dash lasts 180 milliseconds. The gap inside a letter is one unit, between letters three units and between words seven units. Those ratios are what make the audio readable: change the speed and everything scales together, so the rhythm stays correct whether you practise slowly or at full speed.

The controls let you shape the tone to your ear and your purpose. Speed in words per minute sets how fast the message plays, frequency sets the pitch of the beep, volume sets how loud it is, and the waveform changes the character of the tone — a soft sine tone for comfortable listening, or a sharper square tone when you need the beeps to cut through background noise. The repeat option loops the message, which is useful when you are trying to copy a practice sequence by ear.

Generating a WAV file works the same way, entirely in your browser. Press Generate WAV, preview the result in the audio player, then download it. The file is a standard mono WAV that plays anywhere, and because it is made on your device, your message is never uploaded. Try a short message first, listen back, and only then make longer practice files.

How to use it

  1. Type your message in the studio box.
  2. Set the speed, frequency, volume and waveform to suit your ear.
  3. Press Play to preview, or Generate WAV to create a download.
  4. Preview the WAV in the player, then download it.

Frequently asked questions

How do I generate Morse Code audio?

Type your text in the studio box and press Play to preview, or Generate WAV to create a downloadable audio file.

What is WPM?

WPM means words per minute, the standard measure of Morse speed. At 20 WPM a dot lasts 60 milliseconds under the PARIS standard timing used here.

What WAV file do I get?

A standard mono 16-bit WAV file made entirely in your browser. It plays in any audio player and your text is never uploaded.

Which waveform should I choose?

Sine is the softest and easiest for long listening. Square cuts through noise better. Triangle and sawtooth sit in between — try each and keep the one your ear copies best.

Can I use the audio in a video or lesson?

Yes. The WAV is generated on your device for your own use, so you can drop it into lessons, presentations, puzzles or personal projects.
