About this tool
Morse Code Maker is a free, browser-based workshop for International Morse Code. You can type any sentence and watch it turn into dots and dashes instantly, paste a Morse message and read it back as plain text, listen to the result as audio, or flash it as a visual signal from the lamp on this page. Everything happens on your own device, so there is no account to create, nothing to install, and no waiting for a server to answer.
This site exists because Morse Code is still worth knowing, even though the telegraph era is long gone. Amateur radio operators use it every day, scouts and cadets learn it as a field skill, teachers use it to explain how information can travel as simple on-and-off signals, and puzzle fans meet it in escape rooms, treasure hunts and quiz games. A dot is one short unit, a dash is three units long, letters are separated by three units and words by seven, and once that rhythm clicks, whole sentences start to sound like words rather than beeps.
The full tool below is the same engine that powers every specialised page on this site. Start with the converter, then use the audio controls to hear your message at a comfortable speed, try the visual lamp if you want to practise reading flashes, and move on to the chart, the SOS generator or the learning games when you are ready. Your recent conversions are kept in this browser only, so you can jump back to a message you translated earlier without typing it again.
If you only need one thing, use the menu at the top instead of scrolling through everything here. The translator pages are single-purpose and faster to use, the chart is the quick reference to print or keep open beside you, and the quiz, flashcards and speed test turn the same code into practice. Whatever you choose, the code itself never changes: it is the standard International Morse Code alphabet used by radio operators around the world.

Frequently asked questions
What is Morse Code Maker?
Morse Code Maker is a free set of browser tools for International Morse Code: a translator, an audio player, a visual signal lamp, a reference chart, an SOS generator and learning games. Every tool runs in your browser and nothing you type is sent to a server.
Do I need to install anything?
No. The tools work in any modern browser on a phone, tablet or computer. Audio and the microphone decoder need browser permission for sound, but no app or download is required.
Is Morse Code still used today?
Yes, mainly by amateur radio operators, and also in aviation, maritime training, scouting and emergency signalling. It is also widely taught as a fun first step into radio and coding.
How fast should I start?
Begin at 20 words per minute or slower and focus on recognising whole letters, not counting dots. Slow down with the speed slider whenever a sequence feels rushed.
Is my text private?
Yes. Conversion, audio and the learning games all run locally in your browser. The only thing stored is your recent conversion history and learned flashcards, and both stay in this browser.
